Chelsea leading the race to sign Athletico Madrid star?

According to reports, Chelsea is leading the race to sign Turkish International Arda Turan. The reports are based on quotes from Galatasaray president Unal Aysal. His boyhood club, Galatasaray are interested in signing him too.

"Chelsea are involved with Arda and we won't be able to match what they are offering," Unal Aysal told Turkish newspaper Milliyet .

So what will Arda Turan bring to the team? Turan's primary position is on the LW,the 26 year old has been one of the influential figures at Athletico Madrid this season with 4 goals and 6 assists in 27 appearances for them this season. His statistics underrate his contribution,he simply has been better in my own view.

Chelsea After Galatasaray striker?

According to Dominic Fifield of "The Guardian", Chelsea is interested in signing Turkish International Burak Yilmaz.

27 year old striker,Yilmaz has been one of the most prolific strikers in europe this season, scored 34 goals in 43 appearances. He scored 8 goals in the Uefa Champions league and 24 goals in the turkish league to help his team win the league.

Chelsea has reportedly been told it will cost them around £20 million to get their man. Chelsea seems to be looking to add an accomplished striker to their roster for the 2013/2014 season. Big name strikers such as Edinson Cavani, Radamel Falcao, Mario Gomez, Wayne Rooney and Robert Lewandowski have all been linked to Chelsea in recent times.

Should Chelsea drop the Chase for the big names and sign Yilmaz?

SHOULD CHELSEA SIGN ROONEY?

Manchester United unhappy star striker,Wayne Rooney has been repeatedly linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford in recent weeks. Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed Wayne Rooney submitted an official transfer request and claimed the club won't let him go.

One of the clubs Rooney has been linked to by the media is our own Chelsea Football Club. Few clubs have the financial backing to pay his wages and as we all know English players prefer to remain in their own league. Chelsea looks a likely destination if he eventually leaves Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney is a world class striker and a real household name but was not his usual self during the just completed season, which is why a section of the Chelsea fans do not want Wayne Rooney. I personally would love us to sign Wayne Rooney if only to spite our rivals neglecting the possible financial consequence. Rooney can be a very good addition to the Chelsea team but that will depend on whether he regains his form of old or not.
