Barcelona Are Wasting Their Time Chasing Luiz

Reports suggest that Barcelona are still trying to sign Chelsea's Brazillian defender, David Luiz to succeed their Captain Carles Puyol. A £30 million bid was quoted in some reports.

David Luiz was Chelsea's best Centre-back last season and was ever present. He also featured in the midfield where he was pretty decent. The English media made Luiz look like a bad defender to most people, comments like "Not the Mourinho type of player". David Luiz is a talented footballer who every manager in the world including the best, Jose Mourinho would love to manage. Everybody saw his quality at the just-completed FIFA Confederations Cup at Brazil.

Abrahimovic's Chelsea are not a selling club, they don't sell players in their prime especially when still in use. How many times do teams like Barcelona need to be told this? Jose Mourinho revealed that when he tried signing Samuel Eto'o from Barcelona while at Chelsea, Barcelona had insisted they are no selling club then we ended up getting Shevchenko. Its hard to see Jose Mourinho doing them any favours.

Surely, Jose Mourinho is a smart man and he must know that David Luiz has been helping Chelsea's Brazil players settle down and enjoy life in London. Selling David Luiz will definitely affect the likes of Oscar, Lucas Piazon and new boy, James Wallace. I strongly believe Oscar's performance on the pitch has a lot to do with Luiz most of the time.

Barcelona are simply wasting their time thinking Chelsea are Arsenal. Chelsea is a big club! The players are well paid too. The earlier Barcelona realize Luiz is a no go, the better for them. Barcelona will probably have to cough up around £50 million before Chelsea management and fans can consider letting Luiz go.

NOTE: Barcelona haven't completed payments for Neymar, Alba, Sanchez. The club will probably fold up if they can end up having Luiz.

OFFICIAL: Chelsea Signs Mark Schwarzer

Chelsea have announced the signing of 40 year old former Fulham goal-keeper, Mark Schwarzer on free transfer.

Chelsea had been in the market for a backup goal-keeper after releasing Ross Turnbull and Hilario also expected to leave.

"It's a phenomenal club. It's one of the biggest and best clubs in the world, and it's an honour to sign for Chelsea. I didn't take much convincing to come here".

Mark Schwarzer brings wealth of experience, made his debut for the Australian team 1994 before going on to represent them 108 times till date.

I think Chelsea have got themselves a more than able backup goalie in Mark as he's surely an upgrade on Hilario and Turnbull. Chelsea and Jose Mourinho can now cast sight on another important signing.

PEP GUARDIOLA PLAN SENSATIONAL BID TO SIGN DAVID LUIZ

Chelsea defender David Luiz is in high demand as both Bayern Munchen and Barcelona are preparing to make a summer bid for him. Luiz, who won the Confederations cup with Brazil recently, is an integral part of the national squad and his club side Chelsea.

According to Daily mail, Bayern manager Pep Guardiola is ready to lock horns with his former club Barcelona to sign David Luiz from Chelsea. The report says Guardiola believe, he can improve the defense with Luiz in the squad. The Brazilian defender, who joined Chelsea back in January, 2011 has a contract valid at Stamford Bridge until 2017. Meanwhile, Barcelona and league 1 big spenders PSG are also keen on signing Luiz.

The 26 year old former Benfica player is a fan’s favorite at Chelsea and many pundits consider him as the future captain of the club. So far he made 109 appearances for Chelsea scoring 12 goals from all competitions. Luiz’s adaptability to play both as a defender and a holding defensive midfielder made him regular first team player. Luiz joined Chelsea three seasons ago from SL Benfica for £ 26 million and Blues included midfielder Nemanja Matic as a part of this sensational deal.

Bayern has a strong defensive unit with youngsters such as Holger Badstuber, Jerome Boateng, Diego Contento, Dante alongside veterans Van Buyten and Lahm.

There were many rumours regarding Jose Mourinho planning to offload Luiz and Mata, but the manager said he has no intentions to sell out any of his players. Luiz is a key player for Chelsea and it is hard to see him leaving the club. The player is really happy with his current situation at the club and has no doubt over his future with the Blues.
I’ve been fortunate to play with many fantastic players but he is the hero at Chelsea. I’m just happy football gives me the opportunity to play with some truly great players.

Report: Chelsea Agree Personal Terms With Edinson Cavani

We all knew we had not heard the last of Edinson Cavani rumours. By now, people who have been reading my blog must be familiar with Tancredi Palmeri.

Palmeri then tweeted again after three minutes to confirm he knew Chelsea have been discussing with Cavani's representatives recently.
While this doesn't mean in anyway that Chelsea have gotten their man, it's still a step in the right direction. Chelsea now need to agree a fee with Napoli. Actually, Chelsea shouldn't be discussing personal terms with Cavani without permission from Napoli. Nice move though as it will now be difficult for Napoli to stop him from moving. Chelsea's unwillingness to pay his buyout fee might eventually Napoli to settle for a reasonably less amount.

Do you want Chelsea to go on with the Cavani chase?

Good Luck Marko!

Chelsea have announced on their official website that German winger, Marko Marin will join Sevilla on loan for the upcoming season.

Last season, Marko Marin's potential was hindered by series of injuries. He then fell down the pecking order. Andre Schurrle signing for Chelsea and Kevin De Bruyne not going on loan meant that Marin will probably not play for Chelsea during the 2013/14 season.

Sevilla already sold Jesus Navas to Manchester City, leaving a void in their team. Let's hope Marin can fill the void and spring back to life in the La Liga.

Good luck Marko Marin, we hope you return to Chelsea as who we all know you can be. Best wishes...
